Asteya
asteyaNon-stealing, the third yama. Teachers often widen it to not taking what is not offered: time, credit, attention.
The third restraint, with the most cheerfully material promise in the whole list:
As soon as he is grounded in abstinence from theft, all jewels approach him.
The original Sanskrit
asteyapratiṣṭhāyāṃ sarvaratnopasthānam
All jewels approach him. Read it as poetry or as psychology: the person who has genuinely stopped grasping finds that enough keeps arriving.
