Satya
satyaTruthfulness, the second yama. Quoted in class as speaking and living your truth.
The second restraint is truthfulness, and the Sutras attach a striking promise to it:
As soon as he is grounded in abstinence from falsehood, actions and consequences depend upon him.
The original Sanskrit
satyapratiṣṭhāyāṃ kriyāphalāśrayatvam
A person grounded in truth stops needing to force outcomes; word and result begin to line up. The claim is less mystical than it sounds: someone whose speech is fully reliable moves through the world with unusual weight.
